Birmingham Songwriting Circle
led by Sara Colman
A ten week programme exploring and developing songwriting.
During this ten week course we will be looking into many elements of songwriting including structure, lyrics, harmony, creativity and inspiration. Using critique and analysis we will look to further understand successful communication through songwriting.
The small class (max 12) will be an informal environment to meet and share ideas and experiences with other songwriters as well as presenting new songs for development.
Each week will have a combination of prepared and focused taught topics alongside platforms for works in progress to be shared and the ensuing discussions.
All styles of music and abilities are welcome.
The classes will run from 7.30-9.30pm on a Monday evening and will be followed by an Open Mic session for class members, invited friends & general public (space allowing!)
It will all happen in the lovely cosy atmosphere of The Coffee Snug at The Old Crown in Digbeth (built in 1368!)
2014 Class dates:
January 13th, 20th, 27th
February 3rd, 10th, 24th
March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th
The ten-week course costs £100.
